Disproportionate Impact

According to Toronto Public Health data, Latin-Americans in Toronto were nearly seven times more affected by COVID-19 cases compared to the general population. This staggering disparity underscores the urgent need for targeted information, advocacy, and resources directed at this community.

The pandemic did not affect all communities equally. Latin Americans in the GTA — many of whom work in essential frontline roles — faced heightened exposure risks while navigating systemic barriers to healthcare, income support, and linguistically accessible information.
